Compared with polysiloxanes and surfactants, as a textile softener, polyurethane has not only fewer varieties, but also fewer applications. In recent years, the rapid development of new and fiber and microfiber fabrics abroad, the pursuit of ultra-soft feel and style, provides a good opportunity for the development of polyurethane softeners. Treated with polyurethane alone or blended with other softeners, the textile can obtain a good imitation peach skin style.
Compared with ordinary softeners, Kefeng's softener has durable wet feel and water absorption. Polyurethane prepared by polyol denaturation technology can obtain unique hand feeling, soft style without bone, good drapability and elasticity. In addition, as a softener, polyurethane can also be used for hole-clogging imitation down-punching finishing. The finished textiles can not only get good down-like punching, but also give the textiles a soft feel. Polyurethane softeners include polyether type and polyester type. Generally, polyether type products can give textiles a soft feel, but there is a problem of water stains, which can be prevented by using a water repellent agent. Polyester-based products have less water spotting issues, but do not feel as good as polyether-based products. At present, polyester type has entered the market as a textile softener and occupies an important market. In order to further improve the flexibility of polyurethane, low molecular weight polydimethylsiloxane (DMPS) can be used for modification reaction to prepare an aqueous polyurethane dispersion containing DMPS. It is characterized by a very low glass transition temperature, high heat resistance and oxidation stability, low surface tension, strong water resistance, and the treated nylon fabric has a soft feel and a prominent imitation peach skin style.
Heat-reactive water-based polyurethane has long-term storage stability as a textile softener. When in use, with the action of overheating and catalyst, the active isocyanate is released again, forming a film on the surface of the fiber and fabric, and reacting with the Xiang group on the cellulose fiber. Therefore, this kind of softener has low surface tension, and the treated nylon fabric is soft and has a peach-like style.
